Depression isn't simple. Depression is a disease that can linger and progress for months and years without detection . Studies have shown that millions of Americans will suffer some form of this year. Unfortunately fewer than 1/3 of these people will look for help. Those with the disease don't even know it in many cases. Life is full of stress on a daily basis. The road blocks in life have become more severe. Many people live pay check to pay check. The recent economic crises has created even more pressure to obtain and hold a job. Stress leads to depression.

Countless types of exist. Many of the types have similar names and meanings. These labels include manic depression, medical depression, clinical and mental depression. Severe refers to the most advanced form of the illness. Depression is brought on by many associating factors. There are those that believe it is biological, that chemical imbalances in the brain lead us to depression. Depression is also passed along in the genes. If your grandfather and father suffered bouts with than you may be at risk to suffer it as well.

Different types of are given birth by other similar factors. Substance abuse often leads to depression. Rather it is alcohol or drug abuse, both has shown evidence to depression. Depression is more likely after a close person dies. Mental historically has a stigma associated with it. Before being classified as a disease it was thought to be

a defect in character. There was very little treatment offered. Each phase has it's own negative results. Early detection, then, is necessary to fight depression.

Once the disease has progressed to severe the illness must be treated. When has reached this level then the thought of suicide is ever apparent. The calls for assistance weren't answered and now the chance to solve the problem is fading. Medications and therapy combine for a working treatment. Also available are support groups that can help. There are also natural herbs you can use to treat the disease. People who suffer from any type of have options.
